Is there anything more refreshing than a spoonful of ice-cold sorbet on a hot summer day?

Those of who have tried my peach sorbet know what I’m talking about. It’s one of the best summertime desserts because it’s super refreshing and ridiculously easy to make. All you have to do is blend up frozen fruit with a little dairy-free milk, transfer it to a container and freeze for a couple of hours. Then you have a healthy sweet treat that’s ready for you to cool of with!

As much as I adore the peach version, this year it’s all about the mangoes. They have a rich and creamy texture that works perfectly for sorbet. You also don’t have to worry about adding any sweetener. Mangoes have a naturally sweet flavour that tastes delicious all on their own.

I’m sure many of you are wondering where the turmeric fits into this picture seeing how it’s typically used in savoury recipes. I’m always looking for ways to sneak it into my recipes because I love that it supports a healthy response to inflammation in the body.* Surprisingly enough, it blends really well with the tropical flavour of mango.

For this sorbet I used MegaFood’s Daily Turmeric Nutrient Booster Powder which I recently learned is made from fresh turmeric that’s organically grown in Kauai. How awesome is that?

My mind is spinning with all of the different ways that I can use the powder, but for now this sorbet is definitely a great place to start. I hope you enjoy it and that it helps keep you cool this summer!
